The Brief

Joanna Thomas, an artist specializing in nature-inspired works, approached me to rebrand her website with the goals of improving its visual appeal, enhancing the user experience, and increasing search engine optimization (SEO). The objective was to create a calming, visually engaging website that aligned with her artistic vision and encouraged users to engage with her work. To achieve this, I used soothing green and cream tones alongside floral illustrations, allowing her artwork to take center stage while fostering a smooth and serene browsing experience that led users to convert.

Desired Outcomes

Improved SEO

Improved User Experience

Extension of Brand to Digital

Process

The project began with close collaboration with Joanna to ensure that the website’s design and branding aligned with her company’s future direction and goals. Together, we mapped out a roadmap for the website rebrand that would reflect her artistic identity while providing an intuitive user experience.

To bring this vision to life, I incorporated simple, nature-inspired vector graphics throughout the site, emphasising Joanna’s unique selling point—her nature-based art. These graphics, combined with the calming colour palette, contributed to a soothing aesthetic that complemented her artwork without overpowering it. Additionally, I ensured that the website structure and content were optimised for SEO, integrating relevant keywords and improving site performance to increase visibility in search engine results.

The site design also focused on user experience, with a clean layout that guided visitors effortlessly through her portfolio, from browsing her work to taking action, whether purchasing pieces or getting in touch. The seamless integration of calming visuals with functionality was essential to achieving this balance.

The Outcome

The rebranded website successfully achieved its goals, resulting in a visually pleasing and optimised user experience. The use of calming colors and floral elements allowed Joanna’s artwork to stand out, while the improved layout led to higher user engagement. The SEO enhancements contributed to increased web traffic, while a decrease in bounce rate and an increase in conversions showed the effectiveness of the rebrand. The website now serves as a true reflection of Joanna’s art and business goals, creating an inviting space for potential clients and art enthusiasts to explore and engage with her work.
